Saint Valentine’s day nowadays have different meanings because we can show love to someone in different ways. According to (Dictionary, 2017): “Day when you give a valentine card to someone you have, or would like to have, a romantic relationship with” So in this definitions says that is when you send a card to someone but you can show your love no only to your couple, you can give another gift to your pet, son, daughter, to someone that you really love. This custom was created because in the past exist one festival that received the name of Lupercalia and this festival was to celebrate the fertility, in a general way, and also Acoording to Hopkins, M. (2017): "Exist one story about one priest who secretly married couples due It was banned at that time and also he did a miracle to someone and when the emperor send someone to kill him he left a letter that said from your valentine. So this tradition represent the love that you have to someone".

 St Valentine’s Day is a traditional celebration that have different customs, and totally different ways to celebrate this day.
Acoording to (timeanddate, 2017) :
Many people around the world celebrate Valentine’s Day by showing appreciation for the people they love or adore. Some people take their loved ones for a romantic dinner at a restaurant while others may choose this day to propose or get married.Generally, this day is for express the love between a couple, and it can be expressed by chocolates or flowers.
In Unites States give cards to all single people, could be only a friend, a class’s partner, a boyfriend, a girlfriend, and also to the parents, because they think that is a especially day for express feelings. In our country, years ago, celebrate with serenade and flowers, because is common for some countries celebrate some days similar than other. In other side, we have countries like, Italy that don’t celebrate the day, because they think that is not important and is a loss of time.
The companies are those that usually benefit from this day, due to the purchase and sale of special items of this day.

Based in what was expressed about the topic “Saint Valentine’s day”, we can conclude that this holyday is celebrated in almost all the world, and in every single country that has this celebration, they do it in many different ways. In our country, Ecuador, is very similar the wise that the Ecuadorians enjoys this day like in other countries, because is common to see that between people that are married, the husband gives roses to his wife, chocolates, one serenade or they date in an elegant restaurant to enjoy the night, talking about everything and nothing at the same time. In summary, they do whatsoever is consider “romantic thing”.
Many people celebrate this day, without knowing that many years ago, in the old Rome the women were whipped just for being consider “fertile” to the men that were choosing their future wife. But, if think about in the ways that many holydays needed to change their old traditions to continue existing, we are going to have a big surprise, because almost all of our celebrations had traditions that, for us, were brutal or not according to the religion that has more followers.

Nowadays many teenagers are truant but many of them don’t know the real mean so according to (Cde.ca.gov, 2017): “The California Legislature defined a truant in very precise language. In summary, it states that a student missing more than 30 minutes of instruction without an excuse three times during the school year must be classified as a truant and reported to the proper school authority”.
